Author

Hi, I’m Krish Shrestha, founder and writer at LegacyVia, where I run, maintain and develop the website myself. I handle the research, writing, editing, publishing and maintenance of the website independently. My curiosity about technology started around Grade 7, when I wanted to know how websites were built. I started learning web development languages such as HTML and CSS via online tutorials, and eventually built my website. This led to a desire to learn more about how technology works, which resulted in me learning Python, SQL and blockchain. Although I started learning about technology, I never set out to master any particular field. I enjoyed learning the inner workings of different technologies, and how different fields are related.

Artificial intelligence was a topic I kept learning about. As I learned more, I started experimenting with learning about it. I also learned about the use cases of AI in everyday technology, as well as its applications in robotics and software development. The more I learned about AI, the more I wanted to discover what went on under the hood of the technology, instead of just being a consumer of it. I’m currently an A-Level student, studying Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics. Outside my studies, I spend most of my time researching AI, and working on my personal projects and writing for LegacyVia.

Why I Created LegacyVia

I created LegacyVia as a result of my desire to consume as much information about technology as possible. Along the way, I’ve done a lot of research and took notes for myself. However, one day I decided that what I’ve learned could be useful to other people, and the thought of sharing my information with others motivated me to create LegacyVia.

The idea was to create a resource center with documentation of my research, as well as a platform to share and express my thoughts about what I learned. Writing about the topics I learn help me in documenting what I’ve learned, and to research more. I’m not an expert in the fields I write about, but I write as if I’m researching the topics as well, which forces me to spend more time on a certain topic to explain it sufficiently. My process is straightforward – I research, understand, and explain a topic to my best ability.

What I Write About

Most of my content on LegacyVia revolves around Artificial Intelligence, Technology and Innovation. I aim to provide information for beginner level readers and general audiences. A vast percentage of my content is based on AI fundamentals and concepts, such as machine learning, deep learning and generative AI. I also write about AI tools and use cases, and the concepts behind such AI use cases and tools. Some of my articles are guides to basic concepts, and some are more focused on providing an explanation on how certain technology works and where it’s being applied. In addition to Artificial Intelligence, I write about topics in cybersecurity, software, robotics, technology and digital business, especially if they’re related to the fields I’m currently researching.

How I Research

I do a lot of background research before writing any content. Depending on the topic, research could take different forms. On technical topics, I’ll research from official reference documentation. For other topics, I might research information from multiple reliable sources and compare them to get a better perspective of the topic. When writing about a certain tool or product, I’ll spend time using the product to gain first hand experience, and apply it in the writing to give first hand experience, where possible. I don’t follow a strict research methodology because of the nature of different subjects, but I always try to acknowledge and reference where I get my information from to ensure accuracy and reliability of information.

Due to how fast technology evolves, I always go back to old posts and update them if necessary. Whenever I realize that certain information that was previously true, is no longer applicable, I update the post instead of keeping it as is.

What Readers Can Expect

Mostly, I write for an audience that’s interested in AI, but don’t have a technical background or expertise. I strive to explain concepts and topics clearly and concisely, in simple language that’s easy to understand, as opposed to explaining jargon to people who already know the meaning of said jargon.

I aim to write articles that are easy to read, but without over-simplifying a concept to the point that it loses meaning or becomes inaccurate. Where appropriate, I like to break down complex ideas and processes into easily digestable points and use real-world examples to demonstrate. My aim is to deliver information to readers without using unnecessarily long sentences or paragraphs. I want the content to flow naturally and for a reader to find the information they’re looking for. I value reader experience and want readers to be able to retain the information they sought.

Building LegacyVia

Currently, LegacyVia is a work in progress, and I’m constantly learning as I build it. My aim is for it to be a free resource center for anyone interested in learning about AI and technology. As I continue to learn, I intend to build the following:

  • beginner guides
  • technical explainers
  • tutorials
  • AI tools research and reviews
  • updates on developments and news in the world technology

I have exciting content lined up and I can’t wait to learn and write more.

Learn something properly. Understand how it works. Then make it easier for someone else to understand.
